Jimmy Franklin Trotter Obituary
Mr. Jimmy Franklin Trotter, 88, of Thomasville, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026 at his home. He was born on October 19, 1937 in Davidson County, NC to Charlie Trotter and Bessie Riley Trotter. He was a self-employed carpenter, who built many homes around Davidson and Randolph counties. He was a US Army veteran having served during the Korean War. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church until his illness. He enjoyed hunting, playing horseshoes, and building deer stands. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donese Ann Hicks Trotter on April 10, 2026; his son, Terry Trotter; and his brothers, Raeford Trotter, Donald Trotter, and Clarence Trotter.
Surviving are his three daughters, Teresa Eddinger and husband Michael, Sandi Watts and husband Tony, and Sherry Trotter, all of Thomasville; one sister, Ellarae Gordon of Thomasville; six grandchildren, Paige Trotter, Christina Gallimore, Mike Eddinger and wife Cynthia, Adam Watts, Sabrina Harmon and husband Aaron, and Leia Trotter; and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, 8138 E. Old Highway 64, Lexington, NC, with Pastor Rick Shoemaker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church from 9:45 AM – 10:45 AM. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
