John Dalbert Kennedy, 74, of Thomasville passed away Friday, February 9, 2024 at Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center. John was born March 6, 1949 in Columbus County North Carolina to the late Monroe Kennedy and Elizabeth Tyler Kennedy. John served his country in the United States Army-101 Airborne and later in the National Guard. He worked many years in the furniture industry. He was very talented in wood working, he enjoyed doing yard work, watching westerns, but most of all spending time with his family. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Rubert Kennedy; and one sister, Margie Brown.

Surviving is his loving wife Rosa Lee Hulin of the home; one daughter, Christina “Chrissy” Jeannette Kennedy; one step-son, Dwayne Hulin and wife Misty; three brothers, Timmy Kennedy, Tommy Kennedy, and J.M. Kennedy; four sisters, Geraldine LaTour, Doris Kennedy, Ann Babson, and Jane Kennedy; three grandsons, Blaize Evan Kennedy, Jayzen E’less Barnes, and Justin Hulin and wife Taylor; one granddaughter, Breyanna Hulin; one great-grandson, Kason Hulin. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.  

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at 11:00 AM at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Darrell Summey officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Union Community Church Cemetery in Denton. The family will greet friends on Tuesday evening, February 13, 2024 from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at J.C.
