John Vincent Lonergan, Jr.

Mr. John Vincent Lonergan, Jr. 64, of Whitsett passed away on July 25, 2021 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro.

John was born August 10, 1956 to John Vincent Lonergan and Helen Koroshetz Lonergan in Brooklyn, NY. He worked for many years in retail for Rolane, Kayser Roth and Croscill; in recent years, Sheetz and Harris Teeter. Mr. Lonergan was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Graham. John was preceded in death by his father, John Vincent Lonergan.

Surviving is his loving wife of 13 years, Marilyn Lee Lonergan of the home; a son, Timothy Draughn (Theresa) of Burlington; five siblings, Joseph Lonergan (Christina), Kathy Vella (Steve), James Lonergan (Paula), Karen Lonergan (Kathy), Kelley Mangilomini (Frank); four grandchildren, Liam, Joseph, Emma, Frankie; several nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Tamra Ball (Wayne) and extended family.

A visitation and vigil will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Graham with Father Paul Lininger officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the mass at the church. A graveside service and committal will be held on Friday, at 3:00 PM at Emanuel Reformed Church Cemetery in Thomasville with Rev. Ricky Payne officiating.
