John Morissey Lupton Obituary
Mr. John M. Lupton, 89, a resident of Davidson County, passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 14, 2026 at Thomasville Medical Center, surrounded by his family. John was born in Pamlico County on March 10, 1937, the son of the late Thomas J. Lupton and Bernice Alfred Lupton. John graduated from Pamlico County High School and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he was a weather forecaster. After an honorable discharge, he moved to High Point to study at High Point College, while working at Center Theater. John began work in the shipping & receiving department of Cassard Furniture, worked in Logistics at Bernards Inc. for many years and later retired from American Business Solutions. He was an avid reader and was well-versed in current events and politics. John also enjoyed yard work and bird watching.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his brother, Larry E. Lupton.
Surviving is his brother, Dewey Lupton (Pauline); his sister-in-law, Phyllis Lupton; and longtime special friend, Jewel Sikes and family, Sandy and Barry; nieces and nephews, Larry Mark Lupton (Belinda), Ana L. Floyd (Wendy), Jonathan Lupton (Jordan), Terri Bucksot (Jay) and Tommy Lupton; grand nephews and nieces, Michael, Owen, Leah, Molly, Aaron, Jacob; great nephew and niece, Jospeh and Sadye. John will be missed by everyone who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Liberty Baptist Church 225 Liberty Avenue, Thomasville, NC 27360 with Military Honors. The family will greet friends following the service at the church.
