September 25, 1994 ~ March 31, 2021 (age 26)

Obituary

Mr. John William Swing, a resident of Davidson County passed away on March 31, 2021. He was born on September 25, 1994 in Lexington, a son to Kim Sterling Swing and Tammy Cross Swing.  John spent most of his working career as a customer service manager at Food Lion (store #674). He loved working there and enjoyed being around his work family as much as he could. John married Myke Baumgartner on October 11, 2018 and they shared many memories together that will always stay forever in Myke’s heart. He had a love for the outdoors like no other, including beach trips, hiking the mountains and always seeking the most thrilling rides at any amusement park. His laughter and joy from these things where very contagious and all who had the pleasure of knowing him would agree. John profoundly touched many lives during his journey here, spreading smiles and laughter along the way. He left a lasting impression to anyone that had the pleasure of his company from his partner, Myke, his beloved parents and of course his sister who was his confidante and best friend. John was proud of his many accomplishments and none went unnoticed by his family. Coming from his love of the ocean, he also took pride in keeping and maintaining salt water aquariums. He will be remembered for leaving his beautiful mark on this world. John was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Jo Ann Cross who he lovingly called BaBa and his Aunt, Sherry Cross also known as Toweeze.

Surviving is his partner, Myke Baumgartner of Lexington; parents, Kim and Tammy Swing of Lexington; sister, Ashley Burkhart and husband Jason; niece, Marissa; maternal grandfather, John Cross; paternal grandmother, Nancy Swing and fur baby, Jesse Reid. John also leaves behind many beloved extended relatives and friends on all the Baumgartner, Swing and Cross families.
