John Benjamin Watford

Mr. John Benjamin Watford, 88, a resident of 141 Lee Road, died Monday morning, June 22, 2020 at home. He was born on February 3, 1932, a son of Jesse Benjamin Watford and Annie Ethel Younts. He was owner of Watford Construction Company. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jewel Pierce Watford; son, Allen Watford; and sisters, Ethlyn Juska and Zula Choinski.

Surviving are a daughter, Kay Watford and her husband John Collett of Thomasville; four sons, Sam Watford and wife Karen, Frank Watford and wife Robin, Ben Watford and wife Mitzi, and Luther Watford, all of Thomasville; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A private family graveside service will be held at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. David Bowman officiating. Mr. Watford will lie in state at the JC Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM for those who would like to pay their respects. Special thanks go to his Home Instead Caregivers of the past 6 years. In lieu of flowers, the family request any memorials contributions may be sent in Mr. Watford’s memory to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
