John Wayne Everhart

Mr. John Wayne Everhart, 84, of Thomasville, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at his home.  He was born on March 29, 1941 in Davidson County, NC to Ray Willis Everhart and Alma Lou Ensley Everhart.  He retired at the age of 77 from Rex Oil in Thomasville and was a lifelong member of Zion Church.  He loved farming, hunting, carp fishing, spending time with his family, and watching his grandson racing. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Lou Rook.

Surviving are his two sons, Jeffery Wayne Everhart and wife Tammie of Trinity and Jason Allen Everhart and wife Angela of Chapel Hill; his grandson, Caden Everhart; his sister, Georgia Crayton of Thomasville; his nephews, Rodney Rook and wife Angie and Dean Crayton and wife Barbara; and his canine companion, Tinker.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Zion Church with Pastor Josh Sands officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Mr. Everhart will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.  The family will be at the funeral home on Sunday, September 21, 2025 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.  Memorials may be directed to the FFA Chapter at Ledford Sr. High School, 140 Jesse Green Rd.
