Joshua (Josh) Dale Hartley Obituary

Joshua Dale Hartley, 47, of Wallburg, NC, passed away on September 7, 2025. He was born on January 19, 1978, to the late Janet and Richard (Jackie) Hartley.
Josh’s life was not about perfection—it was about being real. Whether you knew him as a friend, a restauranteur, or family man, he showed up as his true self.
A man of many passions, Josh was an excellent chef and a proud dirt bike enthusiast. In his early years, he loved playing golf and cherished the time spent on the course. He was also the proud owner of Wallburg Diner, where his dedication and warmth touched the lives of many in his community.
To his loved ones, Josh was more than a provider—he was a rock and protector. Always dependable, always present, he gave his family and friends the comfort of knowing they could count on him. Above all, the greatest joy of his life was being a father. The love and pride he carried for his children, Jackson, Lila, and Everly, were unmatched.
Josh was one of a kind—kind, smart, funny, and deeply respected. He leaves behind countless memories and a legacy of love that will never be forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Janet and Richard “Jackie” Hartley. He is survived by his wife Laura; his children, Jackson, Lila, and Everly; his brother, Brad Hartley, and wife, Lori; their children; and many other loving family members and friends.
A memorial service is to be held on Wednesday September 10, 2025 at Mount Pleasant Church in the FLC at 6:00 pm with Pastor Chris Clontz officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
