Juanita Kay Johnson Swaim age 82 of Old Greensboro Road, High Point, NC, died on June 27, 2025, at Hospice of the Piedmont, Hospice Home at High Point. A funeral service will be held on July 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Floral Garden Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 1730 W. English Road, High Point, with Rev. Ben Free officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Mrs. Swaim was born in Davidson County, NC on September 7, 1942, to Lawrence Roosevelt Johnson and Ila Kay Sink Johnson. She graduated from Ledford High School. She retired from Pilot Life Insurance. Following her retirement, she and her husband of 47 years, Wilbur Clay Swaim, spent time living and traveling in an RV until Wilbur’s death on June 26, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary Kiger and husband Willard; Elsie Woodring and husband Thomas; brothers, Kenneth Johnson; Carlis Johnson and wife Joan and Ronnie Johnson; brother-in-law, Wayne Myers and her beloved dog Sparky.
Surviving is her son Randall Swaim, wife Tammie of Thomasville; two grandchildren, Ashley Swaim Morgan and husband Tyler of Maiden and Scott Swaim of the home; and one great grandchild, Waylon Chase Morgan. Also surviving are sister Jean Myers; sisters-in-law, Kathy Johnson of Lexington and Nellie Johnson of Sophia, as well as her best friends, Rick and Chris Motsinger. Mrs. Swaim was a member of Spring Hill United Methodist Church, where she was an active member of the Faithful Women’s Circle and the Chicken Pie Crew.
