Obituary
Mr. Karl Frederich Smink, 59, of Thomasville passed away peacefully Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center. Karl was born December 19, 1963 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina to the late George Thomas Smink, Jr. and Dr. Mary Jane Moore Smink. Karl graduated cum laude from North Carolina State University with a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Arts Education. He was employed with East Coast Risk Management where he was the Senior Safety Supervisor. Karl was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church in Hickory. He was an avid collector and lover of Model Trains and Steam locomotives. He enjoyed furniture restoration, singing and cooking. His greatest joy in life was making memories with family and friends around the table or fire as stories where shared. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend; he will be greatly missed.
Surviving is his loving wife of 35 years, Teah Little Smink; one daughter Jordan Smink and husband Dr. Christopher Hudson; one son, Karl Arthur Smink; one brother, George Thomas Smink, III.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
