Katie Ruth (West) Parker

Mrs. Katie Ruth West Parker, 87, a resident of Winston-Salem, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at her home. She was born on March 4, 1938 in Johnston County to her parents, the late Lessie Lee West and Wiley West. Katie worked several years in the furniture industry and loved going to her Primitive Baptist church. In her free time, she enjoyed word searches, cooking for family, and working in the garden with her husband. Katie was a loving and precious mother to her family and she will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, David Earl Parker; her son, Ricky Parker; and seven siblings.

Surviving is her two daughters, Linda Peace (Kenneth) of High Point and Brenda Ward (Jeff Fair) of Thomasville; one son, Terry Scott Parker (Angela) of Trinity; four grandchildren, Chrisy Starnes (Grady), Tyler Parker (Ashley), Tiffany Noman (Mohammed) and Travis Parker; three great grandchildren, Morgan Starnes, Jeslyn Deel, and Rayan Noman; and several extended family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the JC Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville with Elder David Anderson and Elder Wayne Gravley officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Following the service, entombment will be held at Holly Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum.
