Kenneth Wayne Owens

Mr. Kenneth “Wayne” Owens, 53, a resident of Davidson County passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021 at High Point Reg. Medical Center.  He was born on August 28, 1968 in Dillon, SC the son of the late Lovitt Andrew Owens and Margie Lovette Owens. Wayne was a 1987 graduate of East Davidson High School.  He was the owner of Wayne’s Place Tanning Salon and worked in the tanning salon business for over 30 years he also worked at the YMCA in Winston-Salem for several years.  He attended Full Gospel Freewill Holiness Church.  Mr. Kenneth loved to play racket ball and was very talented in drawing pictures, painting, and designing portraits.  He loved his family and loved singing for the Lord.  The highlight of his day was coming home to spend time with his dog Sarge.  Wayne will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but mostly by his mom Margie who loved him dearly.    

Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Lovitt Andrew Owens. 

Surviving is his mother, Margie Lovette Owens of Thomasville, NC; his sisters, Dorothy “Dottie” Jean Boles and (Chuck) of Lexington and Tammy Lynne Owens and husband Leo Blanchard Jr. of Thomasville; one nephew, Joshua Andrew Boles of Lexington, NC. 

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Full Gospel Freewill Holiness Church, Thomasville, NC with Rev. William Hutchens, Rev. Randy Martin, and Mr. Mitchell Hutchens Officiating. The family will greet friends the day of the service at the church beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow the service at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville. Mr. Owens will remain at J. C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until the day of the service.
