Kenneth Ray Hepler, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026 at the age of 77. He was born on November 26, 1948 in Davidson County, NC, he lived a life marked by hard work, steady devotion, and a genuine kindness that touched everyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Ray Hepler and Aline Swaney Hepler, his brother, Gary Hepler, and his sister, Helen Harris.
He is survived by his wife, Sallie Hepler of the home; his brother, Thomas Hepler and wife Terri of Raleigh; his chosen girls, Courtney Simmons, Blaire Sipes, and Regan Barker; and his four-legged children, Harrison and Harlow.
Following his service in the United States Air Force, during the Vietnam War, he became a skilled builder and cabinet maker. Kenneth took great pride in his work. He approached each project with care, patience, and craftsmanship. Kenneth was also deeply involved in his community. He was a longtime member of the Fair Grove Fire Department and Fair Grove Church. He was likewise a member of the Thomasville Jaycees. Kenneth believed in being useful, being present, and being a good neighbor, and he lived those values every day. Those who knew Kenneth will remember him as a friend to all. He had a warm and approachable nature that made others feel welcome in his company. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will remain a source of comfort and gratitude to those who loved him.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Fair Grove Church with Rev. Mark Helms and Jane Baity officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. No formal visitation will be held.
