Mr. Kevyn Joseph Reyes, age 21, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026 in Wilmington, NC. He was born on July 2, 2004 in Riverside, California. Kevyn Graduated high school from Coastal Carolina Academy and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2023 and was promoted to Corporal in March of 2026. Before enlisting in the US Marine Corps, he was a volunteer firefighter in Greenville, NC and Griffith Fire Department in Winston Salem, NC. Kevyn enjoyed line dancing with his girlfriend Hayley, going to the beach, playing baseball with his little brother, and hanging out with his Marine Brothers and friends. He had the silliest, goofiest personality, always making people laugh, and always there to lend a hand or listening ear to anyone who needed him. Marine Corps leadership noted that he was an outstanding Marine, dedicated to the Corps and always willing to do what anyone needed or asked to get the job done.
He was preceded in death by his father JD Reyes. Surviving is his mother Marilee Claus and step father Steve Claus; older sister, Cameryn Reyes; younger brother, Parker Claus; little sister, Piper Claus; and girlfriend Hayley Smith.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Mausoleum at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, 401 W. Holly Hill Road, Thomasville, NC 27360. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Objective Zero in memory of Cpl Kevyn Reyes. JC Green & Sons in Thomasville has the honor to help Reyes family.
