Obituary

Mr. Lank Junior Sechrest, 89, a resident of Thomasville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, March 14, 2022 at his home. He was born on November 12, 1932 in Davidson County, NC to the late William Archie Sechrest and Vera Frances Henly Sechrest. He owned and operated Lank of Lexington Furniture Ind. in Lexington, NC. In 1955, he accepted Christ at Free Pilgrim Church and after that he attended the Community House Church also referred to the Tater House on Lower Lake Road. Then in 1957, he was one of the founding members of Heath Church, where he served on the church board, Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent, and song leader. Lank is currently a member of Archdale Pilgrim Holiness Church. He was formerly the President of Carolina Christian Academy and served on the school board. He also served on the board of God’s Bible School and Salisbury Christian School. In his later years, he enjoyed gardening and working in his yard and orchard.

On February 11, 1951, he married Audrey Jane Hedrick Sechrest, who preceded him in death on October 16, 2020. He is also preceded in death by two sons, Mark and Steve Sechrest; a grandson, John Patrick Neville; a great-grandson, Jacob Matthew Sechrest; infant brother, Dickie Sechrest; adult brother, Sherrill “Shorty” Sechrest; a sister, Ann Hollifield.

Surviving are his three daughters, Cheryl Ann Miller and husband Ed of Thomasville, Kay Lynn Ackerson and husband Dave of Butler, KY, Patricia Faye Neville and husband John of  Milford, OH; two sons, Richard Wayne Sechrest of Winston Salem, Wesley Martin Sechrest and wife Misty of Thomasville; one brother, Odell Sechrest of Lexington; two sisters, Dare Tyler of Thomasville, NC, and Sharon Mason of Concord, NC; 15 grandchildren, Tiffany, Jessica, Matt, Alix, Megan, Kris, Daniel, Mark, Kevin, Jennifer, Kayla, Emily, Alisha, Erica, and Johnathan; 16 great-grandchildren, Eva, Gabe, Salem, Madison, Liam, Karissa, Anna, Aria, Tray, Calvin, Eli, Oliver, Amadeus, T. J., Amaryllis, and Knox.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Heath Church in Lexington with Rev. Dan Downing, Rev. Edward Lecates and Rev. Derald Hunt officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service at the church beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Carolina Christian Academy, 367 Academy Dr. Thomasville, NC 27360.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.jcgreenandsons.com
