Larry Dale Parnell

Mr. Larry Dale Parnell, age 86 of Winston-Salem, NC passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. Larry was born August 10 1939 in Forsyth County, NC a son of the late Larry Franklin Parnell and the late Dora Daniels Parnell and had made this area his home all of his life. Larry was a mechanical specialist having retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. He was a member of the Tar Heel Cutlery Club, enjoyed farming and being outdoors and especially loved spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Elizabeth Ann Yokeley Parnell; who passed away January 4, 2023; his daughter, Donna P. Sink, his sister, Linda Everhart. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Ronald D. Parnell and his wife Jill of Shoals, NC, Eric F. Parnell and his wife Wendy of Midway, NC; his brother, Zane Parnell and his wife Barbara of Midway, NC; grandchildren, Ashley Parnell Hunter and her husband Blaine of Pilot Mt. NC, Wayne Parnell and his wife Allison of Wallburg, NC, Kayla Ann Parnell and her Fiancé’ Trey Ellison of Wallburg, NC, Mary Sink Hutchings of Apex, NC; his great-grandchild Curtis Jameson Beau Hunter.

A celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, September 7, 2025 at New Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church with Rev. Shane McIntosh officiating. Interment will follow the service at the church cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the Parnell family at www.jcgreenandsons.com.
