Larry Smith Obituary

Mr. Larry Ray Smith, 80, of Winston-Salem, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 10, 2021 while at High Point Medical Center.  He was born on October 24, 1940 in Forsyth County to the late Ray Smith and Lucille Clodfelter Smith.  Larry was a member of Spring Hill United Methodist Church and was active in many activities until his health declined.  He was an auto body painter by trade and was a talented furniture restorer.  Larry grew up farming and loved working on and collecting John Deere tractors.  He enjoyed bluegrass and gospel music, and riding motorcycles. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Cecil Smith and by three brothers, Harold, Colon, and Phillip Smith

Ray is survived by a son, Reverend Vernon Smith and wife Rhonda of Winston-Salem, and many other extended family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Spring Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Ben Free and Rev. Vernon Smith officiating.  Interment will follow the service in the Spring Hill UMC Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday starting at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.  Memorial gifts may be directed to Spring Hill UMC, 240 Spring Hill Church Road, High Point, NC 27262.
