Mr. Larry “Dolan” Tucker, 76, a resident of Thomasville, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. He was born on April 15, 1950 in Thomasville to his parents, the late Paul Vernon Tucker and Betty Joyce Tucker. He retired from the Thomasville Fire Department after roughly 30 years of service to his community as an engineer. Dolan also was owner of Southgate Electric and a member of Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and enjoyed going camping, but one of his biggest joys was spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving is his wife of 48 years, Elizabeth Jane Hill Tucker of the home; three children, Jamie Tucker (Kerri) of Hamlet, Amanda Tucker Brady (Matthew) of Thomasville, and Tiffany Tucker Johnson (Rodney) of Thomasville; six grandchildren, Michael Tucker (Maria), Lucas Johnson, Joe Johnson, Abel Johnson, Claire Tucker, and Avery Tucker; two brothers-in-law’s, Terry Hill (Mary), and Ray Hill (Derita); loving puppy dog, Maggie-Mae; and several extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the JC Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville. The family will greet friends Wednesday night from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
