Lois Wright Land Barnwell

Lois Wright Land Barnwell, 95, of Thomasville passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at her residence.

She was born November 26, 1925 to the late Lloyd Wright and Corina Hughes Wright Byrd in High Point. Lois was a resident of Thomasville since 1943. She graduated from Denton High School and Ashmore Business College. Lois was a tax preparer until the age of 75 and member of First United Methodist Church in Thomasville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several siblings.

Surviving is her son, Lester T. “Scooter” Land, III of New London; a daughter, Janet Land Hutchens (Keith) of High Point; caregiver of 10 years, Gladys Pearson of the home; two grandchildren, Lexi Land and Christopher Hutchens; three great-grandchildren, Gracie, Maggie and Colby.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 2, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville. There will be no formal visitation. Lois will lie in repose on Thursday, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the J.C. Green and Sons funeral home in Thomasville. Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church in Thomasville.
