Mrs. Loma Irene Garner Clodfelter, 94, of Thomasville passed away Friday, January 23, 2026 at Hinkle Hospice Home in Lexington. Loma was born June 23, 1931 in Guilford County, North Carolina to the late Jacob “Jake” Garner and Ethel Connor Garner. She attended Free Pilgram Church for many years where she taught the teenager Sunday School class which she loved dearly. Loma worked many years as a secretary of Thomasville Furniture and later as a teacher assistant for Davidson County Schools. Yet her greatest joy in life was being a homemaker and taking care of her family. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sister, Imogene Garner Fritts and Jacqueline “Jackie” Garner; and her brother, Coyte Lee Garner, Sr., daughter-in-law, Anke Lilly Clodfelter.
On July 13, 1963, she married, Harvey Clodfelter, Jr., who survives of the home; also surviving are her two sons, Byron Clodfelter of High Point and Alan Clodfelter and wife Natalie of Thomasville; one grandson, Lane Clodfelter of Thomasville.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Free Pilgrim Church Cemetery, 1321 Free Pilgrim Church Road, Thomasville with Rev. Steve Manley officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service at the funeral home from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be sent to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
