Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth McBride Staley, age 88, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025.
Margaret was born March 3, 1937 in Trap Hill, NC (Wilkes County) a daughter of the late Walter McBride and the late Ruby Brown McBride. Margaret made this area her home since 1959 and enjoyed making crafts and needle work, liked to work outside growing flowers and gardening. She was an office clerk for a local auditing company and was a member of Wallburg Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Sherri Lynn Davis and Paula Marie Lavender; a brother, Tyre McBride; her sisters, Janice Billings and Betty Jo Cothren. On August 17, 1955 she married Elisha Paul Staley who survives of the home.
Those left to cherish her memory in addition to her husband are her grandson, Brandon Rogers of Greensboro, NC; her brother, David Lee McBride of Walkertown, NC and son-in-law, John Lavender of High Point, NC.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at the J.C. Green and Sons Chapel in Winston-Salem (Wallburg Community) 10301 N. NC Highway 109, Winston-Salem, NC 27107 with Rev Roy Cantrell officiating. The family will greet friends on Tuesday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Crystal City, Virginia or to the Leukemia Association of America, 3 International Drive, Suite 200, Rye Brook, NY 10573.
