Margaret Ann Darr Wagner

Mrs. Margaret Ann Darr Wagner, 87, a resident of Old Greensboro Road, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021 at Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center.  She was born on December 20, 1933 in Davidson County, NC to Roy Crayton Darr and Ruth Boyles Kivett Darr.  She, along with her husband, were lifelong tobacco farmers and she worked in the cafeteria at East Davidson High School for several years.  She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, where she was active in the church choir, the United Methodist Women, and sang in a church trio, with her twin sister.   She was a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary at Triangle Fire Department and delivered Meals on Wheels for many years.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Elwood Wagner on September 5, 2014, whom she married on April 4, 1953.

Surviving are her daughters, Kathy Saintsing and husband Lynn, and Beverly Davis and husband Barry, all of Thomasville; her sons, Keith Wagner of Thomasville and Wendell Wagner of Jamestown; twin sister, Marie Ball and husband Raeford of Thomasville; brothers, Charles (Bill) Darr and wife Elaine, and Wayne Darr and wife Sherry, all of Thomasville; grandchildren, Brandy Saintsing, Bridget Saintsing, Ben Davis and wife Lauren, and Anna Davis; and several nieces and nephew.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Duane Corle officiating.  Interment will follow in the Fairview United Methodist Church cemetery.  Mrs. Wagner will lie in state at the funeral home on Friday, February 19, 2021 from 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM for members of the community to pay their respects and the family will be at the home of her daughter, Beverly.  Memorials may be directed to Fairview UMC, 2876 Old Greensboro Rd.
