Margaret Elaine (Jones) Kepley

Mrs. Margaret Elaine Jones Kepley, 77, a resident of Lexington, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025 at Piedmont Crossing Nursing Home in Thomasville. She was born on March 2, 1948 in Horry County, South Carolina to her parents, the late Beatrice Mazell Coleman Jones and Johnie Floyd Jones. Margaret was of the Baptist faith and had a love for animals. She also enjoyed telling a good joke to family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Earlie Lee Kepley, Sr. who passed away on April 20, 1994. She also is preceded in death by her daughter, Ruby Ann Bowman; her son, Earlie Lee Kepley, Jr.; and two sisters, Jackie Watts and Betty Jo Livingston.

Surviving are her two daughters, Beatrice Elaine Benfield and husband Hubert of Lexington and Tonya Reneé Benfield and husband John of Thomasville; one sister, Arlene Hicks and husband Tony of Hillsville, NC; six grandchildren, Robin Benfield, Terri Benfield, Derek Benfield, Kristy Benfield, Heather Benfield, and Amanda Benfield; numerous great-grandchildren; and several extended family and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Clarksbury United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends following the graveside in the church cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Davidson County Animal Shelter in memory of Margaret.
