Marie Ann Powers McGee

Mrs. Marie Ann Powers McGee, 72, of Lexington, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025 at her home.  She was born on December 4, 1952 in Bladen County, Elizabethtown, NC to Tommy Powers and Esther Marie Carter Powers Klass.  She worked for Singer Hosiery Mill in Thomasville and was well-known for her cooking, especially her homemade biscuits and meatloaf. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daus William “DW” McGee, Jr. on September 1, 2006, whom she married on August 27, 1971; her daughter Christy Lynn McGee Shuler on January 5, 2018; her grandson, Jody Steven Powers; and her brothers, Ray Powers and Frank Powers.

Surviving are her sons, Jeffrey McGee of Midway and Jason McGee and his wife Jennifer, of Trinity; her daughters, Sherri Shore and husband Allen of Lexington, Crystal Childress and husband Jesse of Thomasville, and Donna Lambert, of Lexington;12 grandchildren, Brent Coggins, Jesse Shore, Justin Shore, Morgan McGee, Zachary McGee, Landon McGee, Ryder McGee, Jessica Hollifield and husband Paul, Chad Lambert, Gavin McGee, Jade Johnson, and Brian Shuler and fiancée Erica Ward; 5 great-grandchildren, Tristan, Tanner, Anthony, Austin, and Gracie; and a brother, Kenneth Powers and wife Debbie of Bladen Co., NC.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at 2:30 PM at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville with Rev. Danny McMahan officiating.  No formal visitation will be held.  Online condolences may be sent to www.jcgreenandsons.com.
