Marsha Jones Adkins

Mrs. Marsha Jones Adkins, 72, of Thomasville, N.C., and formerly of Pembroke, N.C., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Atrium Health High Point Regional Hospital. She was born on November 10, 1950 in Robeson County, N.C. to the late Wiley Jones and Nancy Beulah Revels Jones.

In her final moments, Marsha found comfort and strength in the presence of her loving husband Ron. Holding his hand, she embarked on her spiritual journey to heaven. It was a profound testament to the depth of their love and faith, a love that transcended earthly boundaries.

Marsha worked many years as a seamstress in the textile industry. During her younger years she thoroughly enjoyed traveling. She was a member of Hillside Park Baptist Church, which she loved dearly. Marsha selflessly dedicated her life to nurturing her family and friends with her daily phone calls, offering a listening ear and a comforting presence to all who needed it. Her greatest joy in life was the time she spent with her beloved family, and the true delight she felt watching them enjoy her delicious chicken salad, egg custard pie, and Christmas candy. She was a loving and faithful wife, sister, Granny, aunt and friend. Marsha will truly be missed by all who knew her.

Along with her parents, Marsha was preceded in death by one brother, Wiley Jones, Jr., and one nephew, Trevor Jones. She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Ronnie "Ron" Lee Adkins, of the home; step-son, Brad Adkins (Sarah); step-daughter, Lisa; three brothers, Heyman Jones (Jeanette), Rod Jones (Judy), Blakeslee Jones (Clementine); two sisters, Lavonia Scruggs (Jerry), and Margelet Jones, and thirteen grandchildren.  She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews Randall Jones (Betty Jo), J.D. Locklear (Jennifer), Dean Wood (Shana), Carmaletta Henson (David) and many more beloved and very special nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Hillside Park Baptist Church in Thomasville with Rev. Dr. Steve Chipps and Rev. Randy Locklear officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church from 10:00- 11:00 am. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 4:00 PM at Tribal Mound Cemetery in Pembroke, North Carolina with Rev. Charles Locklear officiating.
