Mary Ruth (Steed) Chandler Obituary

Mary Ruth Steed Chandler, 84, a resident of Mt. Vista Health Park in Denton, passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 8, 2025, at Novant Thomasville Medical Center.  Mary was born on January 28, 1941, in Davidson County to the late Jessie Avery Steed and Lora Underwood Steed.  She was of the Baptist faith and worked as a seamstress for many years at Fleming Upholstery. Mary loved to cook for her family and also for her extended family.  She enjoyed playing Bingo on the weekends and loved sewing dresses for her family and friends.  Mary was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother and will be greatly missed by everyone. 

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Eugene Chandler; a daughter, Patricia Ann Chandler; six sisters and four brothers. 

Surviving to cherish Mary’s memory is her son, John Chandler and wife Beth of Denton; her daughter, Deborah Pendleton and husband Steve of Sophia; three grandchildren, Steve Pendleton, Jr. and wife Jackie of Wallburg, Michael Pendleton of High Point, Jonathan Chandler of Asheboro; three great-grandchildren, McKenzie Pendleton, Andrew Pendleton, Abbigail Pendleton; and a great-great grandson, Crew Pendleton.
