Mary Elizabeth Flynn, 81, of John Green Road, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020 at Forsyth Medical Center.
Mary was born on February 27, 1938 to the late Calvin Monroe and Mable Irene Cecil Flynn in Guilford County. She was a member of Free Life Assembly of God in Thomasville and was involved with the Big Sisters Program of High Point. Mary will be remembered for her love of good coffee, traveling, bowling, Carolina Tarheels, and her genuine love of others. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Olin Flynn; nephew, Phillip Brown, Jr.
Surviving are her three siblings, Bonnie Flynn of the home, Frances (Fran) Brown and husband Phillip of High Point, Betty Rierson and husband Larry of Winston- Salem; a niece, Beth; two nephews, Richard and Steve; seven great nieces and nephews; Doc’s boys, Steve, Tony, Billy, Mickey; extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, February 21, 2020 at Free Life Assembly of God in Thomasville with Pastor Richard Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill UMC Cemetery. The family will greet friends Thursday night from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at the J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville. Memorials can be made to the donor’s choice. The family would like to extended a special “thank you” to Scottie Rierson for his love and support.
