Mary Annalee (Taylor) Lunsford

Mrs. Mary Annalee Taylor Lunsford, age 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 25, 2025 at Westmoreland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Colonial Beach, Va.  Mary was born May 15, 1936 in Sullivan County, Tennessee a daughter of the late Mack Bert Taylor and Pauline Joyce Taylor. She relocated to the area in 1965 and began working at Wallburg Elementary School in the early 1970’s as a substitute teacher and later as a teaching assistant.  She was a member of Shady Grove Global Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Alwayne Lunsford, son, Timothy Lunsford, and brother, Claude Taylor.

Surviving is her son, Gregory Lunsford and wife Ayako of King George, VA; two grandchildren, Alka and Kenzo Lunsford; nieces, Amy Taylor Bender of Scotland, UK, Jill Taylor Parsons of Kingsport, TN and Melanie Mooneyhan McCollum of Newport, TN; nephew, Doug Mooneyhan of Tennessee and many dear friends.

A graveside service for Mary will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, 1 April, 2025, at Shady Grove Global Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Tom Mabry officiating. The family will greet friends following the committal service.
