Mary Ann Magee Murphy, 87, of Thomasville went home to be with Jesus Monday, September 1, 2025 at Hospice Home at High Point.
Mary Ann was born April 23, 1938 to the late Hillis Magee and Mildred Leonard Magee of Davidson County. She worked for many years at Thomasville Furniture, Walmart, Wilco Service Sation, and was a member of Midway School Road Baptist Church in Thomasville. Mary Ann was a strong independent woman, who loved to travel and enjoyed fishing. When not on a road trip or on the beach in Florida, she also enjoyed decorating cakes and knitting. She will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Preston Murphy; her son, Scott Murphy; a brother, Jim Magee.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving son, Donald Preston Murphy of Jamestown; three siblings, Joyce Craven and husband Albert, Bonnie Cox, and Bill Magee; a granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, September 7, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Midway School Road Baptist Church in Thomasville with Rev. Albert Craven and Pastor Robert Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Victory Baptist Church in Thomasville. The family will greet friends Saturday night from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the J.C. Green and Sons funeral home in Thomasville and all other times at the home of Bonnie Cox, 201 Peace Lillie Lane, Thomasville, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262.
