Mary Elizabeth Moore Rupard Obituary
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Moore Rupard, 95, a resident of Black Ave., passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2022. She was born on January 19, 1927 in Anderson County, SC to Harold Neal Moore and Rosa Ella Harris Moore. She retired from Thomasville Furniture Industries and after retirement was a substitute teacher with the Davidson County School System, primarily at Fair Grove Elementary. She was a member of Rich Fork Baptist Church and the Victory Sunday School Class and was a former Sunday School teacher and choir member.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilmer Bickett Rupard on August 7, 2011, whom she married on June 22, 1947; her son, David Wayne Rupard; her brother, Robert Moore; and her sisters, Evelyn Brinkley, Vickie Moore, and Martha Moore.
Surviving are her daughters, Diane Huskey, Karen Floyd and husband Steve, and Sandi Rice and husband Greg, all of Thomasville; seven grandchildren, Gary Rupard, Stephen Floyd, Chad Huskey, Matt Huskey and wife Joanna, Robin Rupard, Kellie Rupard, and Bridgette Rupard; step-grandchildren, Lauren Heald and husband Matt and Amy Branson and husband Ron; sister, Billie Curry of Lexington; daughter-in-law, Judy Rupard of Trinity; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 12:00 pm at Rich Fork Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Bowers officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Rupard will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the visitation. The family will receive friends on Monday one hour prior to the service at the church from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm.
