Mary Ellen (Goss) Hunt

Mrs. Mary Ellen Goss Hunt, 87, a resident of Thomasville, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025 at Abbotts Creek Center in Lexington. She was born on October 7, 1937 in Stanly County to her parents, the late Mary Richardson Goss and John David Goss. Mary was a member of Christian Life Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Dewey Hunt, and her sister, Mildred Easter.

Surviving is her daughter, Shelia Hunt Ward and husband Tim of Thomasville; one brother, John Goss and wife Thena of Lexington; two sisters, Ruby Thompson and Ruth Praytor, both of Lexington; her nephew, Tommy Hunt; and her great-nephew, Michael Hunt and wife Jill, and their daughter, Emma Hunt.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the JC Green & Sons Chapel with Pastor Gary Brown officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Free Pilgrim Church cemetery in Thomasville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Christian Life Freewill Baptist Church, 799 Old Hwy. 29, Thomasville, NC 27360.
