Mary "Joan" Greene Gore

Mary “Joan” Greene Gore, 78, of Lexington passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, May 17, 2025. Joan was born May 19, 1946 in Lincoln County, North Carolina to the late Joe Dee Greene and Mary Jeanette Sellers Greene. Joan attended The Well church. She worked many years at Rex Plastics and later at Davidson County Health Dept from which she retired from with 25 years of service. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her beloved family. She always enjoyed Saturday shopping trips with her daughters and Sunday lunches with the whole family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Judy Strickland.

Surviving is her loving husband of 53 years, Tony Gore of the home; two daughters, Tina Baldwin and husband Jim and Kim Cranford and husband Eddie; two brothers, Jim Greene and wife Katie and Joel Greene and wife Betty; one sister, Janice Noah and husband Grant; four grandchildren, Brad Baldwin and wife Pam, Derrick Baldwin and wife Jessica, Jennifer Kinley and husband Brandon and Laura Leonard and husband Chris; eight great-grandchildren, Merit Baldwin, Maeve Baldwin, Kate Leonard, Colton Kinley, Caroline Baldwin, Greyson Leonard, Jensen Kinley and James Baldwin, III.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 2:00 PM at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Huey Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be sent to Hospice of Davidson County- 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
