Maverick Sage Smith passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 25, 2023 at his home. Maverick was born on September 4, 2023 in Guilford County to his mother, Bretly Lace Mishoe and father, Ian Michael Smith of Thomasville. They waited on his birth with great expectation and he brought joy and happiness to them each day.
Maverick touched the lives of everyone around him during his short time here and forever left his tiny footprints on everyone’s heart. He was the most precious, loving, happy baby and was always smiling, especially when someone was talking to him. Maverick enjoyed warm baths and loved cuddling on your shoulder, getting back rubs and being on his mommy and daddy’s chest. Maverick also had many fur siblings, five kitty cats, and a sweet pup named Roxi. Roxi became Maverick’s shadow and went anywhere she could with him. She was always so gentle with Mav and protective and would always attend to him when he would cry.
In addition to his parents, left to cherish his memory, is Maverick’s big sister, Kimberly Williams; his Maternal Grandparents, Anne and David Warr, Robert and Tina Mishoe; his Paternal Grandparents, Andrea and Gary Akers, Timothy and Teresa Sherman; Paternal Great-Grandmother, Linda Hill; and 5 cats and a sweet dog, named Roxi, of the home. Maverick is preceded in death by his Maternal Great-Grandmother, Barbara Byerly.
No formal services will be held at this time. Memorials in Maverick’s honor may be sent to Davidson County Animal Shelter 490 Glendale Road # 5828, Lexington, NC 27292 or Ruff Love Rescue at www.ruffloverescue.com. Online condolences can be left at www.jcgreenandsons.com.
