Melissa (McWilliams) Hunt

Mrs. Melissa McWilliams Hunt, 57, a resident of Montgomery County, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021 at her home. She was born on January 3, 1964 in Thomasville. Melissa was of the Baptist faith and she loved planning events for her family. She especially enjoyed beach trips with her best friend, Kim “Rocky” Trent and her daughter, where wonderful memories were made.

She is preceded in death by her parents, JC Causey and Helen Hepler, and five siblings, Eugene McWilliams, Susie Hulen, Bonnie Beck, John Causey, and Curtis McWilliams.

Surviving are her husband of 24 years, Richard “Danny” Hunt of the home; two daughters, Leah Hunt and Brandi Hobson; two sons, Zachary Hunt and Darren Hunt; three grandchildren, Lily, Ava, and Eden; four sisters, Faye Hughes, Doris Pabon, Wanda Faye Everett, and Brenda Palmer; two brothers, Terry McWilliams and Jimmy Causey; and many extended family members.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Bethel Baptist Church in Asheboro at 3:00 PM with Rev. Jody Harrison officiating. The family will greet friends and family prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to the family.
