Michael Lee Thompson

Michael Lee Thompson, 54, of Lexington passed away Friday, August 22, 2025 at W.G. (Bill) Hefner Salisbury Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Michael was born January 16, 1971 in Guilford County to Tony Thompson and Vickie Cardwell Thompson. Michael served his country in the United States Marines Corps. He later served the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Department as a sheriff’s deputy. He was preceded in death by his father, Tony Thompson.

Surviving is his wife, Misty Dawn Barber Thompson; three children, Austin Thompson and girlfriend Cayla, Logan Thompson and girlfriend Abigail and Kenzie Thompson and boyfriend Isaiah; his mother, Vickie Cardwell Thompson.

A graveside service will be held Friday, August 29, 2025 at 9:00 AM at Salisbury National Cemetery, with full military honors provided by Davidson County Honor Guard.  The family will greet friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at J.C.
