Mr. Michael Lee Jones, 73, of Thomasville, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on December 24, 1949 in Davidson County, Thomasville, NC to James Skidmore Jones and Donna Phoeba Smith Jones. He retired from Old Dominion Freight Line on April 28, 2016. He loved NASCAR, his 57 Chevy and Harley Davidson Motorcycle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 2 month old brother, Joseph Daniel Jones.
Surviving are his two daughters, Leigh Jones Rubino and husband Fred of Charlotte and Jennifer Jones Hollifield of Davidson; 5 grandchildren, Lauren Beach and husband Lemuel, Mary Kate Hollifield, Abigail Hollifield, Alex Rubino, and Nicky Rubino; 1 great-granddaughter, Lennox Beach; his brothers, Jimmy S. Jones and Dennis G. Jones, both of Thomasville; sisters, Jo Ann Jones Williams and Linda Jones, both of Thomasville; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Holly Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Darrell Summey officiating. Mr. Jones will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until the hour of the graveside service. The family will be at the funeral home on Saturday prior to the graveside service from 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM.
