Mr. Millard Monroe Pendry, 86, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Westchester Manor at Providence Place. He was born on July 28, 1938 in Guilford County, NC to Joseph Millard Pendry and Irene Mae Corn Pendry. He was an upholsterer and retired from Drexel Heritage/Lexington Brands and after retirement, he worked at Winding Creek Golf Course and as a bus driver for the Davidson County School System. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church and loved golf and cars.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline “Jackie” Anne Craven Pendry on October 28, 2023; his brother, Ronnie Pendry; and sisters-in-law, Kate and Louise Pendry.
Surviving are his two daughters, Tamra “Tammy” Smith and husband Alan and Candace Varner; his son, Monty Pendry and wife Kim; grandchildren, Amanda Smith and husband Andrew Curtis, Allison Smith, Andrea Smith, Dylan Varner, Landon Varner and wife Alexis, Jacob Pendry, Carson Varner, Hannah Pendry, and Brayden Varner; great-granddaughter, Ava Smith Curtis and a great-grandson, Anthony Javier Smith Curtis; and his brothers, Mahlon Pendry and Gene Pendry and wife Susie.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 3:00 PM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Wallburg. with Pastor John Stein officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home from 1:00 - 2:45 PM. The family would like to thank the staff of Westchester Manor and Hospice of the Piedmont for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Monroe’s honor to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262.
