Nancy Caughron

Mrs. Nancy Barker Caughron, 83, a resident of Thomasville, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the Hospice Home at High Point. She was born on February 26, 1940 to the late Charles Weinberg Barker and Bessie Paige Barker. Nancy has been a member of Trinity Baptist Church since 1961 where she helped in the nursery in her earlier years, the Women’s Mission group, and a member of the Walt Mathis Sunday School class. She was a resident at Westchester Village where she enjoyed rocking on the front porch, where she would greet everyone with a smile. She also enjoyed playing bingo with the other residents. Nancy was always a loving person to her family, church family, and friends and she will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bobby” Caughron, and seven siblings, Geneva, Kate, Dixie, Helen, Dot, Charles, and Buddy.  

Surviving is her two sons, Danny Caughron and wife Debbie, and Jeff Caughron and wife Cindi, both of Thomasville; two grandchildren, Candace Roberts and husband Josh of Graham, and Dustin Caughron of Thomasville; one great-grandson, Jordan Roberts; two sisters, Barbara Weaver of Thomasville and Virginia Mae Passmore of Lexington; and several special nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Morris Little officiating. The family will greet friends Tuesday night from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the JC Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville. Burial will follow the service at Floral Garden Memorial Park in High Point. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Women’s Mission Group fund at Trinity Baptist Church, PO Box 9, Trinity, NC  27370.
