Nancy Kaye Robertson Gallimore, 84, of Thomasville, peacefully passed away at her home on October 10, 2025, surrounded by love.
Born on March 11, 1941, in Davidson County, Nancy was the daughter of the late Grover “Lum” Scales Robertson and Mary Kathryn “Kat” Shermer. She was a proud graduate of Lexington Senior High School and went on to earn her associate degree in nursing from Davidson Community College.
Caring for others was truly Nancy’s calling. She devoted nearly 30 years of her life to nursing at High Point Hospital, where her compassion and gentle spirit touched countless lives.
To her family and friends, she was affectionately known as “Nanny”—a name that perfectly captured her warmth, humor, and heart. Whether she was offering advice, sharing stories, or simply spending time with her loved ones, Nancy made everyone around her feel special.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Ronald Kennedy and Rod Huffman.
Nancy leaves behind her devoted husband of 41 years, Glenn “Doak” Gallimore; her children, Tammy Kennedy of Maggie Valley, Tim Kennedy and wife Jessica of Asheboro, Tracy Krohn of Salisbury, and Kyle Surratt and wife Mindy of Thomasville; and her step-sons, Glenn Gallimore, Tom Gallimore and wife Cindy, and Todd Gallimore and wife Darla. She is also survived by her siblings, Deanna Kennedy of Trinity, Janie Huffman of Atlanta, and Mike Robertson of Thomasville; and her dear friend of 52 years, Kathy Nance of Denton.
Her greatest joy was her family, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
A gathering of friends will be held Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. with Bro.
