Our beloved mother and grandmother, Nancy Lou Isley Greene, passed away on November 22, 2025. She was born to Evander Wesley "Dugan" Greene and Ruth Elaine Gordon Greene on March 25th, 1951. She was preceded in death by her husband, Christopher Kerr Isley, and her brother Ronald Dale Greene.
Nancy is survived by her son Jason Phillips (Gretchen), her daughter Mandy Byerly (Marc), and her cherished grandchildren Austin Corey Phillips (Veronika) and Reese Annsley Byerly. She is also survived by her sister Debra Greene Copply (Tim); her sister-in-law Cynthia Greene; and many nieces and nephews, including Dustin, Rodney, and Denise. She also leaves behind her beloved in laws Janie and Hope Byerly.
Nancy worked in the printing industry for many decades as a pre-production plate maker and type/picture setter. She also served as a paper carrier for the High Point Enterprise. Later in life, she bravely began a new path as a certified nurse assistant, caring for others through Atrium Health Baptist Hospital and Bayada Home Health. In addition, she was an accomplished eBay seller of antiques and collectibles.
Nancy loved spending time with her family, especially her trips to Ocean Isle with Chris and Austin. She enjoyed driving her granddaughter and her dog, Scooby Doo, in her Verano while listening to Elvis. Known for her dry sarcastic humor, she found joy sitting on her front porch and tending to her yard. Landscaping around her serene home and backyard was one of her favorite hobbies. Each evening, she and Scooby Doo took walks on her property down to the creek.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Brookdale Memory Care in High Point for their exceptional care of Nancy and Scooby Doo. They also extend special thanks to the compassionate staff at Piedmont Hospice of High Point.
