Nancy Smith Tysinger Lyndon, 89, of Thomasville passed away March 17, 2020 at her home, after several months of declining health. Nancy was born April 29, 1930 in Davidson County to the late Walter Brown Tysinger and Eunice Smith Tysinger. In 1948, she graduated from Thomasville High School, after that she attended Greensboro College, and was a 1952 graduate of High Point College. Nancy taught in Davidson County Schools for many years, she retired from Thomasville City Schools after 32 years of teaching. Nancy and her husband, Lawrence, volunteered for Meals of Wheels for many years, serving others. She was a member of Fair Grove United Methodist Church where she served on several committees. She was a member of the Christian fellowship class and served as their teacher for several years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Lyndon and one infant daughter, Maleta Ann Lyndon.
Surviving is her daughter, Mrs. Candy Thompson (Roger); one son, Andy Lyndon (Angela); granddaughters, Mrs. Taylor Spencer (Ryan), Mrs. Abby Sharpnack (Adam), Mrs. Katie Fulp (Dylan), Mrs. Ashlyn Dahlenburg (Nick), and Miss Kaitlyn Lyndon; grandsons, Wayne Lyndon (Amelia), Thorn Lyndon; six great-grandchildren Keeleigh, Kaelyn, Conner, Grant, Addalyn and Lexy; one sister-in-law, Loreen Barry, nieces, Susan Barry, Robin Holland, and nephew, Bret Lyndon.
Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Fair Grove United Methodist Church, 138 Fair Grove Church Road, Thomasville, NC 27360, Meals on Wheels, 935 North Main Street, Lexington, NC 27292 or Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
