Nancy Colleen Buckner Kanoy

Mrs. Nancy Colleen Buckner Kanoy, 93, of Thomasville, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at the Henry Etta & Bruce Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.  She was born on May 2, 1931 in Thomasville, NC to Joel Nat Taylor Buckner and Blanche Cates Daligny Buckner.  She worked for many years as the secretary at Carolina Memorial Baptist Church, as well as, accountant for Sky City and retired from the Baptist Children’s Home in Thomasville, where she worked in the Childcare Department.  She was a member of Carolina Memorial Baptist Church, where she was the former secretary and Sunday School teacher.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis “Frank” Vincent Kanoy on August 7, 2000, whom she married on December 11, 1954.

Surviving is her son, Steven “Steve” Randall Kanoy and wife Jamie of Thomasville; grandchildren, Steven Kanoy, II, Miranda Kanoy, Vince Kanoy, and Tessa Kanoy Gibson and husband Daniel; three great-grandchildren, Abigail Gibson, Salem Gibson, and Melody Kanoy; two sisters, Doris Taylor of FL and Frances York and husband Richard of Thomasville.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev.
