Nannie Lee Spencer Beck

Mrs. Nannie Lee Spencer Beck, 97, a resident of Piedmont Crossing Retirement Community and formerly of Unity Street, passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Piedmont Crossing.  She was born on January 10, 1924 in Randolph County, NC to Luther Hezekiah Spencer and Cornelia Elizabeth Walker Spencer.  She was a homemaker and a member of Holly Hill Wesleyan Church, where she was past treasurer and Sunday School teacher. She was a volunteer with Gideon’s International.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Henry Beck on January 4, 2001, whom she married on October 19, 1946; son, Calvin Lytle Beck; and brother, Earnest Spencer.

Surviving are her two sons, Darrell Milton Beck and wife Saundra and Gary Leon Beck and wife Debbie, all of Thomasville; daughter, Sylvia Diane Rich of Archdale; brother, Cleo Spencer of Sophia; sisters, Hazel Spencer of Greensboro, Rachel Ingram of Asheboro, and Eva Hancock of Siler City; four grandchildren, Jeremy Suits and wife Paula, Amanda Mullis and husband Joe, Megan Key and husband Sean, and Andy Beck and wife Beth; and great grandchildren, Caitlin Beck, Harper Key, and Maddox Key.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Holly Hill Wesleyan Church with Rev. Mark Mullins officiating.  Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.  Mrs. Beck will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service.  The family will be at the funeral home on Friday, June 4, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.  Memorials may be directed to Holly Hill Wesleyan Church, 202 W.
