Naomi (Bodenhamer) Lewallen

Mrs. Naomi Ruth Bodenhamer Lewallen, 94, of High Point, NC passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, March 6, 2026.

Naomi was born February 16, 1932 in Forsyth County, NC a daughter of the late John Bodenhamer and the late Ermie Weavil Bodenhamer. She worked as a looper and in the sewing department for Hanes Hosiery and retired after 50 years of service. Naomi was a member of Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She was thrifty, liked antiques, hurricane lamps (which she gave as gifts to family and friends), crafting and was a master seamstress. Naomi enjoyed working in her yard growing flowers, mowing and weeding her flower beds. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother to all of her “Babies” including her nieces and nephew and her canine baby Dolly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Steven Ray Lewallen; her daughters, Joann Lewallen Wiley, Carlos Ruth Lewallen and her brothers and sisters. Naomi was married to Carlos Ray Lewallen who preceded her in death on January 8, 2011.

Those left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Michael Lewallen and his wife Becky of Stanwood, Michigan, John Lewallen of Kernersville, NC, Leanne Prince and her husband Kevin of Thomasville, NC, Bobby Lee Chestnutt of Kernersville, NC; great-grandchildren, Rayelynn Lewallen, Gracie Lewallen, Joshua Prince, Kaylee Prince Tristan Lewallen, Lukas Lewallen and great-great grandchild Paisley Atkins.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at the J.C. Green and Sons Chapel, 10301 N. NC Highway 109, Winston-Saelm, NC 27107 with Pastor Ernest Beck officiating, Interment will be at Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
