Odessa McCoin Berrier, age 97, of the Midway Community passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at her home. She was born on November 7, 1928, in Forsyth County to the late Pinkney Arthur and Clarice Lane McCoin. Odessa was a homemaker, dedicated wife and mother, and loved her home, where she enjoyed gardening and harvesting. She was a great pie baker and loved to can and freeze vegetables. Odessa was a lifelong member of Canaan United Methodist Church where she was active in Women’s Circle, Vacation Bible School, and helping with children in the nursery. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clay Phillips Berrier; son, Kenneth Clay Berrier; sister, Odie Lane Smith; and brother, Otis Lee McCoin.
Odessa is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Lynn Berrier of Kernersville; several nieces and nephews; and her many friends and church family.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Canaan United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1760 Shady Grove Church Road, Winston-Salem with Pastor Jay Bowers and Rev. Danny Berrier officiating.
