Patricia "Trish" Gail (Hammonds) Jones

Patricia “Trish” Gail Hammond Jones, 75, of School Drive, in Thomasville, NC, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Select Hospital in Greensboro, NC.   

Patricia was born October 9, 1947 to the late Manley Edmund Hammonds and Margaret Gore Hammonds in Columbus County, NC.  She owned D El’s Beauty Salon in Thomasville for many years.  Patricia was of the Baptist faith and believed in her Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior.  She loved to travel to the beach and the mountains and she enjoyed playing golf.  Patricia often took “sister trips” with her five sisters, where they enjoyed each other’s company.  She will be missed by all who knew her. 

Surviving is her husband, Dennis Gray Jones of the home; a son, Shane Jones and wife Debra of Thomasville; one brother, Rick Avant of Mt. Pleasant, NC; five sisters, Betty Johnson and husband Bobby of Loris, SC, Doris Beasley of Loris, SC, Bobbie Willard and husband Patrick of Thomasville, Jean McMillan of High Point, Mary Elizabeth “Sue” McClintock and husband Curtis of Greensboro; three grandchildren, Anthony Jones, Eric Ashburn, Kristen Hollifield; three great-grandchildren, Vincent Hollifield, Vayden Hollifield, Kiara Ashburn; several nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Friendly Gospel Baptist Church, 95 Commercial Drive, Thomasville, NC, with Rev. Darrel Summey officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will greet friends prior to the service at the church beginning at 1:00 PM.  Online condolences may be given at www.jcgreenandsons.com.
