Patsy Louise (Benfield) Scarlett

Patsy Benfield Scarlett, 60, of Jolly Road, Lexington, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.  

Patsy was born September 8, 1962 in Avery County, NC, as the baby, to a family of 18 children of the late Andrew “Andy” and Clara Moody Benfield.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. 

Patsy worked in the tree nursery center and also babysat for several families.  She loved her family with everything and not a day would go by that she wouldn’t make you smile.  Patsy is now walking the streets of gold with Jesus and her parents and siblings. 

Left to cherish her memory, is her husband of 41 years, Tony Scarlett; her three children, Rebecca Scarlett, her daughter, Gracie and son, Abraham Scarlett; Daniel Scarlett, Nona Scarlett, her daughters Khloe, Clara and Cassidy Morales, and fiancé Tyler Morales; six siblings. 

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Community Baptist Church, 385 Ernest Snider Road, Lexington, NC, with Bro. Brian Workman officiating.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will follow at Community Baptist Church Cemetery on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 11:00 AM.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hinkle Hospice House, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
