Paul Rodgie Tharp
November 24, 1939 ~ February 2, 2024 (age 84) 84 Years Old
Mr. Paul Rodgie Tharp, 84, a resident of Lexington, passed away Friday evening at Thomasville Medical Center. Paul was born in Horry County, SC, on November 24, 1939, to the late Wade Hampton Tharp and Ollie Tharp. He attended Holloways Baptist Church in Lexington. Paul was a hard-working man and owned Paul’s Water Treatment and Marlowe Van Loan. In his later years he enjoyed traveling with his family and friends, loved living at the lake and going to the beach house. Paul will be dearly missed by his friends and his family.
In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth “Ann” Hall Tharp, whom he was married to for 62 years, prior to her passing away on March 25, 2021; his six brothers and a sister.
Left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Doug Tharp and wife Vickie of Lexington, Rodney Tharp and fiancé, Tina of Thomasville; four grandchildren, Brett Tharp, Dustin Tharp and fiancé, Maria Rodriguez Pierro, Brooke Fowler, Kenny Holdaway and wife Heather; a great grandson, Luca Tharp; good family friends, Betty Drum and Lendon Sink.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at J.C. Green and Sons Chapel in Thomasville. The family will greet friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Paul will be laid to rest beside his dear wife in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery immediately following the service.
