Peggy Jean (Hilton) Bryant

Peggy Jean Hilton Bryant, 93, a resident of Thomasville, went to be with the Lord, on June 5, 2025 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.  Peggy was born on January 16, 1932, in Davidson County, NC to the late, John Casabence “JC” Hilton, SR. and Mary Belle Tysinger Hilton.  She graduated from Fair Grove High School with the class of 1950.  Peggy was a faithful member of Greenwood Baptist Church and took part in many activities with her fellow believers.  She was a dedicated employee for many years as an upholstery sewer for Brayton International and also worked with her husband at his home re-upholstery shop.  Peggy was a very loving and caring person and loved to help anyone in need.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister to her family and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. 

On May 26, 1950, Peggy married Jack Cyril Bryant and they enjoyed 66 years as husband and wife, before his passing in November 2016.  In addition to her parents and her husband, Peggy is preceded in death by two brothers, J.C. Hilton, Jr. and Robert R. Hilton; three sisters, Grace Luther, Jewel Bayne and Dorothy “Dot” Wood; her daughter-in-law, Beverly Bryant.

Surviving is her son, Don Bryant of Thomasville; her daughter, Karen Chilton and husband Rick of Thomasville; three grandchildren, Carrie Hicks and husband Tyson, Jason Bryant and wife Xani, Dawn Addis and husband Zack; two step-grandchildren, Summer Chilton and Sasha Lambeth; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville, with Pastor Benny Vickrey, officiating.  The family will greet friends beginning at 1:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will follow the service at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorials may be given to Hinkle Hospice House 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27295 or Greenwood Baptist Church PO Box 1088, Thomasville, NC 27360.  Online condolences may be left at www.jcgreenandsons.com.
