Peggy "Joan" (Brown) Laney

Peggy “Joan” Brown Laney, 84 of Winston-Salem, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Joan was born August 5, 1938, to the late Hubert and Grace Brown. After working as a supervisor for Western Electric and Tyco for many years, Joan was able to retire from both companies. She also worked as a supervisor and demonstrator for Christmas Around the World.

In addition to her parents, Joan is preceded in death by her sister, Bobbie Berrier; special niece, Sandy Turner; and nephew, Josh Brown.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Larry Laney of Badin Lake; daughter Melinda “Mindy” Wyant of the home; brother, Dwight Brown (Gail) of Wallburg; sister, Brenda Riddle of Winston-Salem; grandsons, Adam Stokes (Cristen of Columbia Falls, MT, and Landon Wyant (Ella) of Wake Forest; and great-grandson, Waylon Stokes; and special nephew, Wayne Turner.

A graveside service will be held at Parklawn Memorial Gardens (2730 Peters Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem, NC 27127) on Friday, September 23, 2022, at 2:00pm, with Reverend Danny Smith officiating. Online condolences may be sent to Joan’s family at www.jcgreenandsons.com.
